Selection of Current Third-Party Funded Projects

Application oriented projects with industry

Agrifood

  • BiodivRegio – Research into concepts for the valorisation of food from biodiversity-promoting, regional agriculture. Economically and ecologically sensible for farmers and end consumers: concepts for more affordable, sustainable food from the region.

Sustainable Hydrogen Technologies

  • DeHaWa – Decarbonisation of exhaust gas treatment in semiconductor production through hydrogen recycling. Dispensing with natural gas thanks to innovative hydrogen recycling technology: optimisation of an EHC system for sustainable and energy-efficient industrial processes.
  • EH2S – Electrochemical hydrogen separation from waste gases in the semiconductor industry. Saves energy, CO2 and costs - protects production plants with clean gases: Recovery of hydrogen from exhaust gases using electrochemical separation.
  • H2F@Home (Homefueling) – Construction of a scalable, decentralised hydrogen filling station for the local supply of a company fleet. Short charging time in the company car park for a long range: making field service climate-friendly with green hydrogen.
  • HyPo-Coat – Development of an innovative wet coating process for bipolar plates to increase the efficiency of hydrogen fuel cells. Less condensation with higher conductivity: Development of a coating and a spray-on process to extend the service life of fuel cells.

AI and Data Science

  • fdm@DHBW – Implementation of a Research Data Management across all DHBW locations to further data driven innovation (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research)
  • AI-Lab DIANA (Data Intensive Applications for Automation) – providing support for companies local to the metropolitan region Rhine-Neckar with respect to collecting and analysis of large volumes of data (funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture)
