Fall Semester 2024

  • [OPTIONAL] 5 - 30 August 2024, Intensive German Course at University of Mannheim’s International Summer Academy. Please let us know if you would like to participate and we make sure there is no overlap with our regular classes during the last week of the Summer Academy!
  • 19 - 23  August 2024, Orientation Week
  • 26  August  – 13 December 2024, classes and exams (16 weeks total)

Spring Semester 2025

  • 3 - 7 February 2025, Orientation Week

  • 10 February – 6 June 2025, classes and exams (17 weeks total, including a one-week holiday for Easter Break)

Registration for classes will be completed individually for each student after arrival in Mannheim. Classes in English are offered in the International Programme and in various departments. Students may choose classes from all programme and departments. Students can receive detailed information about classes offered in German upon request.

English: Students need to have the equivalent of a TOEFL IBT 79, TOEFL PBT 550, IELTS 6 or B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

German: Students who wish to take classes taught in German need to have the equivalent of B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Important: The home university of each exchange student is responsible for selecting students with sufficient language skills!

DHBW Mannheim assumes no responsibility for students failing in classes because of a lack of language skills.

Class formats include, among other things, lectures, business games, tutorials, and independent studies.

The average workload per semester is 25-30 credits. 1 credit (ECTS) = 30 hours. While there is no minimum number of credits for exchange students, the maximum number of credits is 36 ECTS per semester.
